There are quite a
few of Aloe plants..... The sand here are larger, about half or 1/3 of a piece
of uncooked rice and rough.... when got into shoes, it can cut the skin through
the shocks.... of course, I have learned it fast, when I wear the flip flap to
empty bath water in the dark..... my feet had few holes from just walked short
distance......
Pretty much as the
scene somewhere of Loreto, BCS.... (missed you all...)....
Yet still so
different.....
Up higher into the
hills, there is this LoskopDam, where the resort we had stayed a week, and now
almost every day we came to their conference room for our lessons.
On Friday,
September 1st, there were so many boats been towed into the
resort..... usually empty and vast landscape in between buildings now full with
people young and old....
Back at host home,
as usual time for scheduled two hours power off....... Why no consideration for the cooking, bathing and rush back from work that the electric power was most in need?
Seeing the host
family had to cook on the wood fire in the open air.... while wind was sort of
blowing... I had the urge of making a
mud stove right there for them.....
The urge strong
enough to had talked to the host pa to use his readymade brakes to build a mud
stove next weekend. Once I have shown
their at home daughter how to build a mud stove to cook, to save fuel and to
save the cook from the smoke, hope she will take it up to build mud stove for
others to make some income, continuously....
Looking at the
full moon at treetop, it got to be the “Chinese Moon Festival” in one of these
days....
Sorry, even I have
complained about my peanut butter with cheese sandwich for lunch, but there is no way I will share it to monkeys as to
encourage them to come ask for food and got the resort worker’s swing shot
instead......
After the first
rain, more and more flowers blooming and more birds are coming.....
The sun was not as
low as some on the treetops yet....
Walking at Saturday morning with my closest PCV-T neighbor around our areas..... I found this couple of gees....
Since I had the
mud stove to make for my host home in head, I noticed nearby neighbor had mud
brake made and out there to be dried....
The owner noticed
I was taking photo into her yard, and walked up to us, I thought I was in
trouble...
but she was so
happy to introduce herself, agreed that I can take her photo and will send to
my dear ones worldwide. She asked of our names and which families we are
staying and said looking forward to see us more oftener......
Near to my host
home, I saw this cactus plant; was this the one we ate while in Loreto, BCS? I
have to ask Erika on it.
Late Saturday
morning, the daughter from host mom’s oldest daughter came with husband and
three sons to visit...... this granddaughter is 7 years younger than host mom’s
at home daughter, who has one 5 year old daughter.....
Been told not to take any photos on the children’s face.... but I did have the agreements from children and had their parents signed the consents..... I have to double check with PC officers before I am to post photos on our activity today.
These were my
first week at host home and please be noticed again, my blog postings were all
for the story tell to my loved ones worldwide, nothing to presenting Peace
Corps, nor any other volunteers; even we have the same activities together.
